Types of Massage Therapy
INTEGRATIVE STONE MASSAGE refers to Erin Hartman's use of marble, agates, quartz, jade and basalt stones during massage sessions. Her training includes Swedish Massage, deep tissue and sports massage techniques, Inyan Mani (stone walking), Ho'omana Lomi Lomi that follows in the lineage of the Big Island Style (Hawaiian massage), Joint Mobility and Acupressure rooted in Zen Shiatsu. Stone temperatures vary to help balance energies. This type of massage has circulatory, lymphatic, energetic and deep tissue benefits.
"Erin is a true healer. I never thought I'd be able to run a 1/2 marathon after taking a serious fall at my age, but her healing touch made it possible...." LuAnn C. (Facebook)
LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE uses moderate to firm strokes, organic castor oil and hot/cold stones to manually support the function of the body's lymphatic system. Lymphatic congestion in the arms and legs, especially around the shoulders and knees, sometimes mimics symptoms of rotator cuff and meniscus tears. Some bodywork experts also believe that "the compromised quality of [our] air, water, [and] food [could be] causing significant accumulations of metabolic waste products in our bodies (lymphatic build up).... In many cases, this accumulation of toxins causes us to feel low energy levels, fatigue and mood swings" (2006, Prilutsky).
"Erin's gentle and compassionate care is in every detail of the massage experience. She has a gift for sensitivity and listening, and her techniques pinpoint areas of tension I am often unaware I have." Trewdee C. (a long-time client)
TMJ RELEASING MASSAGE is a whole-body, 90-minute massage that includes myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and intraoral techniques (inside the mouth) to release muscle tension and alleviate joint pain. Designed and taught by Helen Baker.
